GABC, Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation Seek Applicants for Third Annual $2,500 Scholarship for Studies in Germany

 

PITTSBURGH, PA, USA - 25 March 2016 - For the third straight year, the German American Business Circle of the German American Chamber of Commerce of Pittsburgh is partnering with the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation to award a $2,500 scholarship.

It is intended to benefit collegiate-level students from Western Pennsylvania who demonstrate academic excellence and strong interest in German-American business affairs and culture, and who plan to further their studies through study abroad at an accredited institution of higher learning in Germany.

Past years' winners have been Angela Marie Nied in 2015 and Aric N. Brown in 2014, both students at Washington and Jefferson College.

The Scholarship Selection Committee consists of one representative from each of the GABC/Pittsburgh’s three founding firms – Ardex Americas, BKD, LLP and Cohen & Grigsby – as well as the sitting chair of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation and the sitting president of the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh.

Funds will be donated by GABC/Pittsburgh and be administered by the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable foundation which also separately provides six $1,500, one-time scholarships for high school seniors.
