Jochen Meyer, CEO of PMJ Service Parts Management, Elected GABC Chairman for 2012

At the November 2011 Oktoberfest celebration of the German American Business Circle of Pittsburgh, Jochen Meyer was announced to the crowd of 120 guests as the GABC's incoming chairman for 2012. Formerly with Flabeg Solar, he now is CEO at PMJ Service Parts Management, LLC, based in
Wexford, PA and Wiesbaden, Germany.
The meeting, held at the Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh, featured presentations by Victoria Demo, senior vice president for foreign exchange at RBS
Securities, Inc., and Barbara Schwarck, executive
coach, author and CEO of Clear Intentions International.
The GABC announced that its new scholarship is in the final stages of development and will involve cooperation with the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation, which will provide a
qualified tax benefit for donors. The fund will benefit collegiate-level
students in Western Pennsylvania who demonstrate academic excellence and
strong interest in German-American business affairs and culture, and
who plan to further their studies at an accredited institution of higher
learning in Germany. The scholarship is a one-time bequest of $2,500.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre representatives Shahriar Broumand, CEO of BrainNet, and executive director Harris Ferris, announced that the upcoming season will
feature a performance brought from Hamburg, "A Streetcar Named Desire."
This internationally acclaimed ballet, based on the play by Tennessee
Williams, is an artistic connection between Pittsburgh and Germany, and
will be the U.S. premiere of the work danced for the first time by an

Lucky winners of a drawing received a free 90-minute coaching session by Schwarck, and a free iPod device donated by the GABC.
